hi all.does anyone know whether you can still order a cert if that person is alive?? im trying to keep a good record with as many certs as i can for my children.My grt gran i never knew but as im stuck with all the older end ive found the gro numbers for my gran and all her siblings..i wanted to get all their birth certs but a few of them are still with us..will that matter.my gran has asked them and they dnt mind at all.

cheir if your rellies are happy with it why not photocopy theirs it'll be much cheaper. Or you could phone the registry office and ask about the certificates of living rellies sandra

You can from the Family records centre - obtain certificates for people still living, however I think I am right in saying that if the birth is under 50 years - you have either: provide the parents names or go to the customer service desk and provide ID. Perhaps some one can clarify? Regards Liz
