In this months issue of Practical Family History is a double page spread on how to get our little ones interested in our hobby of genealogy. It certainly will have my 2 occupied : ) for some of the summer hols Here are a few websites and ideas: A blank family tree to print off and fill in by hand: genealogy(.)about(.)com/library/free_charts/Family_Tree(.)pdf Get your child to interview and elderly relative. They may well enjoy using a tape recorder for this. A list of oral questions to ask can be found here: www(.)rootsweb(.)com/~genepool/oralhist(.)htm I already have mine trained into research at cemetries and library but this site makes it more fun : home(.)earthlink(.)net/~howardorjeff/i4(.)htm Family history Summer fun for Kids: www(.)genealogy(.)com/genealogy/67_taylor(.)html - this brings family history alive for example cooking great grannies recipe. A list of other sites mentioned: www(.)webyfl(.)com/generic71(.)html www(.)rootsweb(.)com/~wgwkids www(.)geocities(.)com/EnchantedForest/5283/genekids(.)htm www(.)genealogytips(.)com/cat/kidst(.)html ffhs(.)org(.)uk/General/youngpeople Also found on www(.)bsmall(.)co(.)uk My Family Tree Book   Where were you born? Do you have any brothers or sisters? How many aunts and uncles do you have? What are their names? Have fun finding out the answers to these and many other simple questions. Use this colourful activity book to build up a fascinating picture of your family and relations and create your very own family tree. Author:   Catherine Bruzzone Illustrator:   Caroline Jayne Church Age range:   6+ years Paperback - ISBN: 1 874735 02 6.    Price: £2.99 Remove all brackets. debbie thankyou for sharing this with us, my kids are all adults and grandaughter is 5 months, but its a great idea, especially if you have a couple of kids you can send them off in the cemetry, to see who can find the oldest grave. to keep them amused, a couple of weeks ago i took my 16year old we did 5 churches and she loved going in and reading the transcriptions, all i got was wow, wow mum look at this. so to all you mums i hope the holidays are good fun days for you lol sandra
