Linda, Sounds a bit like my husband, only different. My husband is constantly inventing things. He does odd jobs just when I've finished cleaning. I refuse to clean up his mess after him, and although it annoys me I just leave it. I tell him that I have to clean up after myself in the kitchen. No shouting or swearing, I just don't clear up his mess. Sylvia

Sally I know how you feel. We moved from a 3-bed terraced house with one bathroom to a 4-bed house with a downstairs loo, upstairs bathroom AND an en-suite bathroom the size of our old one! Luxury. But then...the en-suite shower leaked, the toilet refused to flush, the taps dripped. Asked husband nicely and finally he fixed it, so now I can have showers, go to the loo and wash my hands afterwards. It only took him 18 months to get round to it. Meanwhile, the downstairs loo hot tap dripped. He got round to sorting that this weekend and is amazed that the boiler for the hot water hasn't been on for so long since he stopped the dripping. I'm not much cop at DIY, though I have assembled bits of furniture etc. Husband does a good job, it just takes him ages to get started and ages to finish.(!) Helen

Hello Sally - what a shame when he has worked so hard, I bet he's gutted! Hope the shop exchange the cistern without a fuss otherwise the assistant could find themselves wearing it! Let's hope it's all done and dusted when you get home (literally) Magsx

Sally, is it definately leaking or is it condensation? Our cistern usually has water on its surface and drips on the floor below, but because it's made from china, we have been told it's condensation. Just a thought for you. M.

Sally, It's great is'nt it to have this GC to chat with. It's like having an extra set of friends. Personally when my husband decides to do some DIY I keep well away as the air turns blue! Jo.

My husband retired in March, decided to install ensuite on our bedroom. O.K. its taken a long time but, is tiled from floor to ceiling, lovely shower, little wash hand basin, maceator etc. BUT when it comes to the cistern, can he stop it leaking. NO. I have been married 44 years and did not know he knew such language. thought do I say something or come on here. Well have decided to come on here because he is about to take that b***** cistern out and plonk it on the shop counter today. Lucky enough I am at the charity shop this morning, so will a new cistern be in and running when I come home???? Or will the thing be in bits to make me a new path??? What would you do???
