On a whim I decided to look in the phone book for any of my namesakes still living in the area where we originally come from. Having found about 2 dozen of them I decided to write them all a letter (enclosing a SAE of course). Well that was last week and I have had only one reply, but that chap has turned out to be my grandfathers second cousin. Which is brilliant!!!!!!!

I introduced my self, what i was doing and my family tree. The chap that wrote back had two middle intials that I asked about and whether they were a family name that has been passed down the line from 1808, he confirmed the names that i had asked about and was glad that he now knew the origins of them. As for the rest i just asked if they knew anything of their family history and does anything on my family tree fit in. My tree can be seen here. http://uk[.]geoecities[.]com/knotron2002/index.html copy and paste to address bar and remove square brackets.
