I have just come back from camping in South Devon and I always use the same site.Leacroft,Colyton.Its inbetween Sidmouth and Lyme Regis(fossil hunting here!) and also not far from the donkey sanctuary(which is free to visit and is lovely). Its £9 a night for 2 adults and free showers and washing up facilities.No bar but a pool room and games room.Not a commercial site at all.Plenty of countryside walks. Its fairly peaceful and set in wonderful countryside and sea views.About 7 miles from Sidmouth sea front. Hope this is helpful to you Debbi xxx

Hi there, Yesterday we arrived home after spending another 10 days on a site with our touring caravan...Waxham Sands Holiday Park. The site is on the Norfolk coast between Horsey and Sea Palling and our pitch was just the other side of the sand dunes.No roads to cross just over the dunes and we were on the beach, wonderful soft sand and the sea very inviting. If you wanted there would be no need to leave the site, as there is a shop which caters for most of your need and also a fish and chip van which is open each evening.There is not a club house on the site but after returning to the van each evening from either the beach or and outing we were quit happy to just sit and unwind with a drink or talk to other holiday makers. There is lots to do and see in norfolk and you could always hire a day launch and see the broads Lynn

Hi Lou If you ever think of coming to Northern Ireland we have a fantastic camp site in Killyleagh at Delamont Country Park. It.s right on Strangford Lough in County Down. It's a walkers paradise. Not a drop of commercialism in sight : ) It's a short walk about 2 miles from Killyleagh which boasts a fairytale castle , yet is a real village with a handful of small shops enough to service the community. Plus a rather good pub. jude sounds nice we mite do a tour of places recomened by gc people :-))

Now Lou - we have a nice one here,but don't know about the facilities - l only know its nice cause it looks nice - but we're not near the coast, apart from the site is very near the river Wye - just a few hundred yds away.If they don't have a bar you'll only have a 2 min walk to a pub - we go there sometmes to watch big screen footie. hi lou we have a touring caravan and like you we dont like haven sites etc. we use bagwell farm touring park in weymouth on a regular basis we take our caravan there in march and bring it home in november.we love it the site has a shop and a small restaurant and bar its a lovely friendly,family run campsite and i would recommend it to anyone susie

we r thinking of going camping with out little tent sometime soon we used to be regular campers with the harley (motor bike) and a small tent but then progressed to bigger tents with the kids howoever have now got small tent again as they r grown up and not coming with us does anyone know of good sites they can reccomend in britian we dont like big comercial sites like Haven etc although do like good shower/toilet facilites and also maybe a shop and bar we like walking a bit plus being near the coast any ideas anyone ? lou
