Vera There are 6 Oudenrode records on FreeBMD, none of them Andre, but all in Lancashire. Merchant seamans' records are at The National Archives. Which dates are you looking at? Helen

Sounds like Dutch to me, although in the Flemish part of Belgium you have names like this too. Literally translated means old red. Sylvia

Has anyone come across this unusual name.? Possibly only one person of this family came to England from either Belgium or Holland and his family was born here in Liverpool. Do you know Andre Oudenrode who married Maria Griffith in Liverpool? It would help to solve a mystery. Also where can I find info of Merchant Seamen, please. Thanks, Vera
