While doing some delving on this site I think I found some of my husbands half siblings, born after him to another woman. As Hubby and his brother didn't know their birth father any info on him and any family would be worth its weight in gold. I sent a mail to find out if the man in question was one of the same, and then upon the answer I mailed back to try to explain about hubby. Its been 2 weeks now and we haven't received a reply. As to the age of his father we rather quessed that he had passed on so maybe they were worried that hubby may have been after some financial gain...To which he is not. What should my next step be, as why register on this site to build your family tree only to bury your head in the sand ...or is it me just thinking badly of people for not answering. Thankyou all for the replies, and yes I will give it another week and maybe send them another mail. I like to think that I answer all my mail, and only yesterday on returning home from a break this was one of the first things I did. I know I would feel very guilty in not answering any mail I received, and have been cock- a - hoop in finding lost or new rellies. needless to say my xmas card list has surely grown. I just feel so sorry for hubby to be so near yet so far.....well we will see given time Grateful thanks Lynn

Lynn I deleted my original posting saying I didn't get replies because I've just checked my e-mail and guess what - I've got a reply from someone who is connected (way back in 1802) to someone in my husband's tree! Have hope, keep the faith. Helen
