Hi Marilyn, hope all is going well now. It's definitely the shock. A couple of years ago my son was 14 and broke his leg badly messing around in a friend's garden. I was calm and business-like for everyone's sake, stayed with him in hospital and after the op. to pin it and he was allowed home I cried all the way home and all the rest of that day. When my daughter crashed her car I was furious with her but relieved she was ok. Have a good cry when you're ready- it always makes you feel better.

Marilyn So sorry to hear about your awful shock. I hope that your husband is going to be back to his old self again very soon. As has been said in previous threads, shock affects us in funny ways, and anger is a good way of coping with a situation sometimes, it holds you together when tears don't. Don't worry about it, the tears will come when he starts to mend. Make sure you are looking after yourself through all this, and know that all of us on Gc are thinking of you both. Yvette

Marilyn, I think you reacted as most of us probably would in similar situations. Think about the child that gets lost in the street or in the shop. You worry with every possible awful thing that could happen running through your mind even if they are only gone for a minute or so. What's the first thing you do when you see them? Tell them off for getting lost! A speedy recovery for your husband and I hope you can soon hug him and show the relief you feel that he was not more seriously hurt. Jacky:-)
