Sorry about writing magnetron. I'm afraid that I've been here too long. Of course it is microwave. I've made hundreds of cards, own imagination, using 3D, serviettes, CDs etc.etc. Made some beautiful cards for new born baby, adding tiny knitted socks and jumpers. I've sold some too.

Thanks for letting me know. I'd be interested in knowing how to make the birthday cards.

I hang them in the kitchen window to stop the birds flying into the glass. Haven't had an 'accident' since. Got the idea when I saw one hanging in the back of a car - which was very distracting. First thought it was a police car a few vehicles ahead.

My husband uses an old CD to put his teacup/coffee cup on sidetable. I make birthday cards etc. I first put the CD in the magnetron for a few seconds to create a mottled effect. Sometimes I cut them through the middle too. If you don't have the mottled effect then you see finger prints on the CD! Sylvia

Hang you old CD'S on a tree in your garden and watch the lights go round. Small children love the patterns. It's seems to work best as the sun is going down. Jo.
