Is there anyone else growing Sunflowers. I am growing one for the very first time. Grandchildren think its great. It's around 10ft high and the head is only just started to open. Now where in the garden are the flowerpot men? Lynn

I have two on my balcony. Not very big, but very friendly and appealing.

Hi Lynn, mine are pretty pathetic this year - only about 3foot. It's probably cos we've not had much sun :-(

Having never grown one before I don't know how tall they are ecpected to grow. I got my seed from a sunflower head a youngster bought into the school where I work. It was a Sunflower that the local press had taken a photo of. My young granddaughters think that fairies slide down the leaves when it rains as there are pictures in one of their books with them doing just that Lynn

I planted loads of sunflowers this year and only one has grown. The dog thought it was great when they had grown to about a foot tall then he would bite them up. The one Ive managed to save is about 6ft but hasnt started to flower is still growing....so watch this space. Maggie
