My Hubbie took early retirement two years ago. We had a car repair garage in the UK for thirty years & he loved it but the amount of petty rules & regulations that the government imposed on small businesses got to us in the end & we sold up & moved to Cyprus. Couldn't afford to live in England with no income!! Our "council tax" is only £40.00 a year here & the quality of life is great! Brenda ps Does anyone holiday in Paphos?

hi margaret i was medically retired almost 3 years ago, due to an injury by a client at work. i'm 42 and though i love being at home, and looking after my grandaughter, and enjoying my hobbies I wish i could be back at work, for the company, and the wages. I hate living on incapacity benefit, and being on my own. still i have my friends here for a laugh lol sandra

I retired 4 yrs ago and never regretted it, looking forward to getting my pension later this year, my husband also retired early just over 2 yrs ago, we wondered how he would like it as he's always on the go, but he loves it too, It now means we can go to tea dances together, and take more and longer holidays.

I took early retirement Margaret and have never regretted it, I just haven't got the time for everything as it is, never mind work.

That made you all look to see who was in here didnt it. Quite a few us on the site have retired from work was it because we wanted to (i wanted to enjoy my senior years lol or was it because some of us had reached retirment age or illness. Margaret
