Hi, Think its a good idea to have a reply from GR now what it considered to be a commercial service? 1837 is a commercial business which this site promotes, are we not allowed to inform each other if there is a promotional offer on then? Also you this site advertises AOL and also the services of there own genealogist here, are you allowed to do so as you have a contract with them? This whole thing needs clarifying now as the original thread did not explain in enough detail. We the members look forward to hearing from you. Regards Sheila

I've posted this on the Record Office board as well. I'm gobsmacked!!! Not only have all previous replies been removed from this thread, the whole thread has been taken off the General Topice Board. Enrest's thread - An Open Letter to GR- has also been removed from General Topics!!!!! Are we not allowed to respond the GC/GR's own postings now??!! This is getting ridiculous. Why post the thread in the first place? The nature of the subject was bound to cause some controversy. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen! Debbie

I have just been on Colins board and it seems like Genes have actually removed it. Like you say where is our freedom of speech. i think it is totally disgusting. I had some messages posted on there and object to my words being deleted. I DO NOT think we should let them get away with it. WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?

Hi Again, But I am sure there was a thread headed Promotion of commercial Services through GR was on 'all' the boards (now its only on the records office) maybe GR have taken offence. this is not the only thing that has been taken off the board i remember a lady asked what they thought about maxine carr and ian huntley and that was taken off the board.if they had not been convicted then i can understand it but they had and it was a reasonable question.what was offensive about that.it was a genuine topical debate.like someone said not only is your freedom of speech beenstopped in this country but also on a topical board.let us speak and have our say!

Hi Folks, Is it me or has the original thread that started this off (from Genes Reunited) gone off this boards,its still on the Records Office, but I am sure that it was on the General topics, and the TTF board as well. Sheila

very unhappy and angry if g.c have removed this.this is supposed to be a topics board and that means we can reply to any question asked from a member.it seems to me that g.c are being abit slap happy on removing things that the g.c members aren't offended with but them.ernest if you have removed this then let it be known if not then there will be a few angry g.c members out ther including me!

l really hope GC/GR have'nt deleted it, they won't be doing themselves any favours.Can understand if Fred has in away though,but hope he has'nt!!!
