Infighting on GR??

Pretty new to this site (GR) pretty disturbed to see the infighting that seems to be going on! I try to leave all that at work (or downstairs!) Know nothing about GR Management and will probably never be invited to a Management meeting so what's the problem? I second ANDY DAY'S comments, trace your family's history and leave the politics to......... (The Management?)

It,s not so much infighting Carol. If you were on a bus ,and paid your fare for a journey ,i don,t think you would be very pleased if your driver decided to go the route the way he wanted to go ,instead of sticking to his route,g r seems to forget the rules at times ,and then tends to get upset when someone complains ,thats all.Fred.

Carol I think some people, myself included, enjoy a bit of a rumble. However, this has been taking up an inordinate amount of time and energy today from what I can see. If only GR could learn from past mistakes and be upfront and give early explanations then the mountains would not be built from the mole hills that litter the landscape.

Carol, Yes, we can leave the politics to the management. Wouldn't that make life easier. Let them do what they want. I've paid my £7.50: they can control the site; they can decide what should be discussed; what threads should be removed - evenif theyare neither offensive nor abusive; what 'commercial' sites can be advertised; what health and safety rules can be broken. As long as I've paid them, and I behave - according to their rules - they can deal with the politics!!!!!! The word dictatorship comes to mind - but hey, each to his own.

Carol, If you are new to the site then this controversy will be confusing for you because you wont know Colin who was almost one of the founder members and who helped many, many people with their problems and with their family history. many of us have also met him and know him for the lovely person he is. All these debates which you find disturbing have been mostly in his defence (read my thread Re Colin), if you had a problem we would do the same for you because we are like one big family. families squabble and make up but they stick together. (We do do a lot of research too but that is on the other boards.) Welcome to our world. Ann Glos

i for one like to have discussions reasonably and this is the first time on this site that i have really been so annoyed that admitidly i have got out of control and have said things that i feel about this issue.i think people get tired of g.c doing this and not explaining why.we pay £7.50 for our membership and if you have a complaint about any issue abit like when your happy with a service they have a complaints procedure but with g.c they don't so complaints or griviences cannot be dealt with like they should be.
