I just want to share my excitement. Today is my 14th wedding anniversary and my husband whisked me off to the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies in Aylesbury for a treat! First I found two fascinating documents relating to a settlement dispute concerning my gt gt gt grandfather, which mentioned his first 3 children by name, as well as giving an alternative spelling for his father-in-law. Without husband I would have found it quite difficult to translate the writing! Then I found a missing baptism - my gt gt gt grandfather had 7 daughters and I knew a boy with the right name had been buried in the parish, but didn't know he was my relative, so this confirmed it. Then I had a less successful time with the census, and then we went along the Bicester Road. Now the gt gt gt grandfather mentioned above, Robert, had a daughter, Ann. Ann's son David married a Cornish woman called Emma, and they had a daughter called Gladys. Gladys married a man called Angus, who came from Gloucestershire, but whose family moved to Aylesbury. I knew the address and wondered if the house was still there - yes it was, because Angus' family were there in 1924 and outside the house on the front was a stone saying "Claremont Cottages 1894". By coincidence, Angus' wife Gladys' mother had a brother who owned a house in Cornwall called Claremont! Nell

Thanks girls, and Susie thanks for your offer. I am researching around Farnham Royal and Stoke Poges, but the Aylesbury lot are probably too new for your records. My gt grandfather Charles Williams moved to Aylesbury in 1914ish with his wife Katherine and children Caroline, Edna and Doris. He died in August 1924. I would like to know where he is buried. Nell
