6th Sense with Colin Fry

Did anoyone watch this? It was really good and very thought provoking! I really felt for the woman whose mother came through and she cried. It made me think of my own mother who passed away 30 years ago, especially when he said they didn't get chance to say goodbye. Do you believe psychics really do connect with our loved ones who have passed on? Lynne

Lynne I always watched Colin Fry when he was on Living Tv on Sky. I have been to see Steven Holbrook,The first time I went to see him it was just after my husband had passed over,Steven told me I had been cleaning the cupboards out in the kitchen,Nobody in the family knew I had done this cleaning yet steven told me my husbands name and what I had done with the kitchen. Also seen Keith James(psychic detective),Stephen O'Brien,James Byrne and I have had messages from every one of them from different members of my family that have passed over. Sue

Hi Lynne, Hmm, if you'd asked me 8 months ago if psychics/mediums could connect with our passed loved ones, then I would have said I don't know... perhaps always been a bit curious, but also skeptic at the same time. But after strange experiences myself since January of this year, I have discovered that I am "sensitive" to spirits - came as rather a shock, because I had certainly had no "awareness" before. Not sure what contributed to the "awakening" - but I was told that researching families is a form of channelling... so do now wonder if that had something to do with it!!? At first it was "YIKES" and pretty scary... but I have learnt to understand a little, kept "listening" and so have no doubts now, that it is possible to communicate with those on the other side. Talking to spirit guides seem to be the key... ever heard that little voice in your head that tells you not to do something? Well, that would appear to be guides! I think that most of us get them from time to time, but of course we never listen!!!! But I have learned that guides/Angels, call them what you want, can teach you to listen... you only need ask. I have been "clairaudient" or "hearing messages" for 4 months now. Still sit here in disbelief sometimes... when I relay messages and people are able to relate to them - the shock has caused a few tears to roll. But I have no doubts now, there is more to the world out there than we know. I now believe that we were all born with a 6th sense, but that in our modern day of living, most of us have lost the ability to connect - but that's not to say we can't re-learn. I for one don't believe that I was born with any "gift" - I've still perhaps to see it as that. But I have found it very rewarding to help others and bring comfort to their lives. Can be useful though. I've received quite a few visits from "family" when working on various sections of the family tree. Some wanting to help, or others just saying "hello", perhaps pleased that we are remembering them. I always know my granny's around because I smell her perfume. It was another medium who told me, but I have my own great-grandmother here and she loves helping me. A few things she's told me that I have to now check out... So I know that many of you are skeptical, but certainly now I truly believe and of course to be a psychic genealogist... well, what more could I want! :o) Sue, Plymouth, Devon, UK. PS - I'm "Angel" at www.ghoststudy.com message boards, so if you want to you can read some of my stuff there - can't get everything right, but not doing too badly!!

i believe in psycics, my husband first was adament it was c..p but after ive told him several things that have either been told to me by mediums or i have had kind of premonitions, he now thinks im just wierd, i take this as a maybe he has doubts now. the last time was on hols in spain, i put a thread on here about it. regarding my dream of a gypsy who had a message from my mum, (who left us 10 years ago). iwoke up and told my husband, we went to palma shopping later that day, when a gypsy approached my husband and asked him to buy heather and she'd tell him his fortune. He said no thanks. I was just a step behind him, gobsmacked by what had just happened. I took a book on hols to read by Jon Edwards, i read his previous one 'one last time', and my daughter has the follow up to the one im reading now. opps getting carried away here sorry .

Glenys the Menace! Report 20 Aug 2004 18:38

I do watch Colin's programme quite often, with my hubby in the background saying what a load of rubbish it is. I really, really want to believe in it, but I can't forget some years ago when I was working in cabaret with a friend who used to do "magic of the mind", predicting what someone would write down, and she and her hubby made it quite clear that it was "magic" - i.e. illusions - yet after she'd done her act, people would come up to her saying "we're professional mediums, and we could feel the vibes as you were doing your act". Other "professional mediums" said similar things, which amused my friend, but it makes you a bit jaundiced about the whole thing. I suppose I'm still a bit iffy about it, but I had a dream some months ago about my late mother-in-law who I never met, which even now I still can't explain. I'm going on a bit now, so I'll shut up!

Len of the Chilterns

Len of the Chilterns Report 21 Aug 2004 23:13

The British Journal of Psychology recently published a paper by Dr Stephan Schmidt of Freiberg University, one of Germany's oldest and most respected academic institutions. They have a tremendous amount of data, the results of over 1000 experiments, confirming that a "6th sense" does exist. The experiments were confined to "distant intentionality", the eerie sensation of being watched by an unseen observer. There is far too much to go into here but David Marks, Professor of Psychology at City University, London, postulated that "there is a kind of subtle energy field that, as yet, we can't measure but which can, in various ways, interact between living organisms" This was widely reported in the press on June 27th, notable the Sunday Times which devoted best part of a full page to it. The implications are enormous. For a much wider discussion, read Tracy Blackburn's thread "Life after Death - does anyone believe?". If you have an hour or two to spare, that is. Len

I am not so keen on Colin Fry, each to their own and all that. But today I have booked tickets to go and see Tony Stockwell in November in Colchester. I too enjoy John Edward, channel flicking one day I happened on Crossing Over and used to watch it all the time, until repeats kicked in! I enjoy Most Haunted with Derek Accorah and was hoping to get tickets for the live one up the road to me a few months ago, no luck with that. I'm not expecting to get "picked" as I am lucky in that no one close to me has passed. But I will go with an open mind. Diane

I am a convinced Spiritualist but when I saw Colin Fry in Bornemouth last year I realised that he is a very highly paid entertainer. I would not argue that he never gets true messages but people are so ready to feed him information and he is so clever at reading an audience that it was an education to watch. Never accept a message for yourself without proof and I do not mean something that is applicable to dozens of other people. If you try to visualise something that could only apply to youself you will realise how difficult this is. If you wish to allow your loved ones to reach you go to a medium at a spiritualist church who will not charge you for the priviledge of using a god given gift. and accept the television for what it is ENTERTAINMENT

Janet 693215 Report 22 Aug 2004 12:21

I have a message for one of you. Its from a man who has passed. His name begins with J. He's trying to show me an indentation in the path near the front door where water collects and forms a puddle when it rains. He says he is O.K. Does anyone recognise him?

Janet 693215

Janet 693215 Report 22 Aug 2004 12:38

O.K. How many of you recognised him? I am not in the slightest bit psychic but by using statements that apply to most people with a bit of practice it is fairly easy to fake it. Let me expand; 1) Men generally die younger so we are more likely to have had a male die in our lifetime. 2) J is one of the commonest initials in names. 3) The puddle is one I heard many years ago on the radio. A psychic was doing a reading for someone and threw in the bit about a puddle on uneven path outside the front door. I thought to myself "Hold on, I've got one of those." I asked my mother and she said she had one as well. In fact everyone I asked said there was a puddle that formed within a few yards of their door. I would love to believe but I think most Mediums are just very good on picking up on body language and using psychology. I'm not sure wether they are even aware of it.I think some truly believe that they receive messages out of a deep rooted desire to help people. Though, having said all that, I don't think we just cease to exist upon death.
