Tomorrow my son comes home from Aberystwyth Uni, after his six weeks of trekking back and forth. He has had a brilliant time, and the change in him is unbelievable. Tonight they are having a party and not only is he playing the drums, he is singing one song on his own, my shy, quiet boy has disappeared. I dreaded him going, but now I can see it was the best thing he could have done. Thank you all for your support six weeks ago. And another piece of wonderful news today, he had his AS level results and he has three Bs and an A. Celebration time this weekend. M.

Oh Morfydd, that's wonderful news! I remember how upset you were at him going - see, the time has flown like we said it would! I'm so pleased that he's had such a great time and HUGE congratulations on his exam successes. Mandy xx

Sometimes us Mums have to let go so that the young ones can achieve greater things, hard though it is for all. I am so pleased that he has enjoyed his time at the uni. and that you will soon be able to welcome him back home. Great exam results too. Celebrations all round!

I can remember your thread about your son going and how worried you were, so glad it all turned out so well for him, I'm sure he'll never forget the experience!

Thank you all for your replies. Looking back the time has gone very quickly. Every Friday evening he came home with loads of washing, by Saturday my washer was screaming for mercy. Can't wait to see him. Hope you all have a great day. Lots of love, M.

Hi Morfydd Congratulations to your son on his exam success, you must be really proud of him. I bet you will give him the biggest hug ever when he comes home. I know how you felt when he went away, as i was in a similar situation with my son, and boy did i miss him. Enjoy having your son home, but most of all feel proud of yourself that your boy went away and returned a stronger more confidant young man. I will be thinking of you today. Yvette
