I''ve spent so much time trying to find my Grandfather even though I don't know his name or anything about him. I've written to my father to ask him for information about his father and I posted it yesterday. The problem is I've had no contact with my father for thirteen years. I don't expect a reply. If I do get one it will be a bonus. I thought I'd share that with you. Hey Ho Jo.

Hi Joanne, Of course you are nervous. My husband hadnt seen his father from when he was two years old until two years ago just before his 32nd birthday and he had very little recollection of him and both my husband and I were sick with nerves. He turned out to be a nice enough man but totally not what I expected so I can understand that you are nervous after such a long time apart.Good Luck and best wishes x

Hi Jo, I know how you feel. I met my brother last year for the very first time - he was 35, I was 39. But it was brilliant and I wish you all the very best, and much happiness. Mandy :)
