Hi Lisa, My first alcoholic drink was at age 10, when I was invited back to a schoolfriend's house with other friends in the class, to celebrate his birthday. He was a farmer's son, and lived over the fields up on the moors in Lancashire. At the end of the party, we were eached served a glass of port! Apparently, according to my parents, it took me some time to wander in an inebriated haze back home over the fields. Not far from Wuthering Heights country! The next occasion was a few months later at my eldest female cousin's wedding. Cheshire society affair with big marquee on the lawn, morning dress (not me, fortunately!) etc. Another male cousin and I guzzled strawberries & cream, drank champagne and chased the younger bridesmaids until we made ourselves sick! Third occasion was at age 16 on an illegal outing from boarding school with two mates, when they took me into a local pub and offered me a pale ale. Absolutely revolting! Didn't taste alcohol again until I was well into my 20s! Philip

8!! at my mum and step dads wedding, my grandad kept on giving me wine spritsas, all i will say is my brides maid dress was ruined!!!!

I was allowed wine with the meal since I can first remember, my parents weren't very big drinkers so this was only occurred at Christmas, weddings and such. My parents believed that it was the forbidden that youngsters craved after, therefore if they took the excitement out of having alcohol, we wouldn't be tempted as much. My brother was a weekend drinker, when he wasn't driving, even in those days. I like a drink but often forget to drink it, if I am doing something interesting.

I was 14.I walked into a pub with my older boyfriend and he said 'what ya want' lol so i said 'Martini and lemonade please.'It was the only drink I knew because my dad was a alcoholic we never had drink in the house and never were allowed in pubs as kids. It was gross but I sat there trying to be older and drank it. As I was tall and looked older I was never asked my age so by 15 was getting served nyself and had moved onto CIDER lol Nowadays I dont drink more than at the odd party as I have acid reflux and trust me alcohol is not the thing to drink when you have this problem lol(drink is not why I have it either lol) Debbi :0

About two! But only accidentally! Apparently my dad had a glass of whisky next to him on the floor and before they could stop me I had a drink. Wasn't too impressed by it, or so they say! How things change......! Amy x

same here i like a touch of vodka now and again but am more of a southern comfort and coke,being a southern belle!xx

Hi Lisa My first taste was when I was 13. It was my Dads 40th and everone came back for a party after the pub. My Uncle kept bringing me G&Ts when my parents weren't looking and saying that if they asked I had to tell them it was lemonade! lol. I had a quite a few but had no ill effects afterwards. I don't like gin now - I'm more of a vodka girl! Jeanette

i was around 16 and because my father was a publican i was around alcohol all the time.my first experience was when i was 16.i actually drunk a half bottle of gin with no mixer and was ill in bed for 2 days.you would have thought that would have put me off but it didn't.was drinking in my local pubs at seventeen.find that it's easier for girls to get into pubs now without i.d as they look older.but boys have more of a problemxx
