Dear Joan, Mandy and Jean Many thanks for your replies. Nice to know I'm not the only one who has experienced. Very frustrating especially when one of the contacts shares your 3 times great grandfather!! Maybe the powers that be should consider cancelling the memberships of those that cant be bothered to reply! Anyway hopefully things might get better. Best wishes and thanks to you all. Derek A. Hi Derek This is an ongoing complaint on this site, and every week or so you will see another thread added! It is really infuriating when you try to make contact with someone and they don't even have the courtesy to reply with a 'no connection' even. It's possible that some people change their email addresses and don't remember to inform GR; also some of us have experienced problems in actually received emails via GR. So your contact might not be rude - but they probably are!!! Don't give up, lots of people in the same boat. Good luck, Mandy :)

I would just like to say that although this site seems fairly good in trying to find relatives both past and present, there are certain aspects which I am finding increasingly irritating! That is the amount of people who i have contacted with genuine enquiries regarding names, who just dont have the decency to reply! I have contacted six people since the 7th August, and only 2 have had the decency to make contact. It could be of course that it is the holiday season and people are away. This site will only be successful and stay that way if people are prepared to share info on relatives. After all thats what it was set up for wasn't it?????
