Does anyone have access to the Scotland census? I'm trying to find out some information on my grandfather Alexander Johnston who was born in Gamrie, 1909 (I think) and he Married Isabella West. They had 5 children - Ann, Helen, Marion, Alexander Ralston and James. I'm tryin to find his parents names.

Hi Claire, the latest census available to us would be 1901 as there is a hundred year rule, which means the 1911 will not be available 'til 2011 so your Grandfather would not be on the 1901 if he was born later. If you could find his marriage cert. you would find his parents names on there. Scotland's People site unfortunately only has marriages upto 1928 If your Grandfather has passed away and his death was registered in Scotland you may get his parents names from that. best wishes Christine

Claire, just had a look on Scotland's People and there are 2 Alexander Johnstons born 1903 Gamrie Banffshire. How sure of his birthdate are you, could one of these possibly be him? Christine
