Fi Your story is sad, It's so true the saying that our pets can bring us so much happiness but also so much pain. I hope you and Angel (lovely reason for naming her) have many happy & healthy years together Kim I agree I do believe you can train a cat, but I also think that a cat does things because they are willing and dogs maybe more from habitual training, don't get me wrong I love dogs too!!

We have a static caravan on a site, and the van in front of us has a cat, and we have a dog! The cat roams or sit's outside it's van not taking any notice of us or our dog, preens it's self, has a sniff round the van, and our dog takes no notice of it, nor her of him, but the cat that lives next door to our house! Wow, Jack goes mad. Is it because this cat is content and gives out the vibes to our dog? but this cat never wonders, yet it only comes down to the van at weekends, just shows that you can also train a cat as well as a dog. I am so sorry to hear that some of your cats have been stolen. I am also a cat lover. For as long as I can remember whilst growing up we always had a pair of cats. The last pair were Tabitha who was black had the same birthday (all bar year) as me. Lucy was my cat, she was a tabby and was the one I had planned to bring with me when I moved into my own place. Months before leaving residential college, and whilst my family were visiting me, Lucy was hit by a police car who was in a chase. She made it to the pavement and died. Our neighbour found her and informed by family on their return. I was devastated. Tabitha died of kidney problems soon after. They were both 14yrs. Just before moving into my flat, my aunt visited the family bringing with her a 6 week black and white kitten. She had rescued her from a drowning and thought I might like her as my own. I called her Kitty. We had 14 happy yrs together until she was suddenly taken ill in December 01. There was little they could do and I didnt want to see her suffer anymore. I had her cremated and her ashes are in a plant pot in my garden that will move with me when I decide to do so. 1 month later, after visiting a large RSPCA centre, my heart settled on a 5yr old Tortie with markings I had never seen before. Her name is Angel, named not only because i love the name, but also in memory of Kitty who is my Angel up there in the clouds above. Angel is currently curled up on my lap with her head leaning on my left arm, whilst I type my story for you with one hand!!!!! I hope I never have to deal with the thought that someone has taken away my feline best friend, the one who greets me when I return home. Fi x

Nice to read some happy endings I'm sure you do worry Pat. I have 2 cats and live in a flat, they have never been further than the balcony and quite honestly what they haven't had they can't miss. I would never have a moments peace if they were out, I doubt either of them would be street wise, I can tell Even my Vet is happy about this arrangement, says many of his patients have indoor cats, as long as it's always from a kitten he says there is no problem. I had my cat Thomas go missing about 2 years ago, he was missing 2 months. Seems he was involved in a RTA. Got him back. On a lighter note a stray has moved into a shed in the garden and has been living with us off and on for 2 years. She will not come into the house. Don't give up hope! Christine xx

Lynda. It makes me worry though. I did get another cat last year, He is pure white and very pretty (Poppy was the same), i feel reluctant to let him out, but I can't keep him locked in the house all day!

Pat So sorry to hear it happened to you, I can only pray that your cat and this one if not returned, are as least loved wherever they are. Lynda

That is sad. I had my cat, Poppy stolen a couple of years ago. I didn't get her back, even though she was microchipped! Strangley, she was also deaf. I still miss her. So do the kids. Pat

Every summer for the past few years there has been a small cat that lies out in the sun on the lawn in front of a small block of flats. She hardly ever seemed to move much and was always there when I passed. have just read some notices on trees on my way home. It seems she is 17 on medication and is also deaf, The family are really upset, and her stepsister is missing her. She was taken from outside the flats on Tuesday morning last week. They are appealing for her safe return and no questions asked. She was a dear little cat, and lots of people used to stop and look at her. I feel so bad for the owners, it has really upset me. I just pray that whoever it was reads the notices and realises what a stupid thing thev'e done and returns her. Sorry to ramble, I love animals and just felt sad that's all. Lynda (:-(((((((
