Bridget Same here, although I haven't gone back to smoking - yet. Have put on nearly 3 stone in the 16 months since I packed in the weed. I just can't get motivated to lose the weight. Julia I have tried Weight Watchers about 5 years ago. It didn't work for me, I didn't lose any weight until I stopped going to the meetings! The only way I have ever been able to lose weight sucessfully is with Slim Fast. I intend to try that again after the Bank Holiday. Mind you last time it worked I was smoking too, so I'll see if it makes any difference now (if I can find enough will power!) Good luck Sue

Consider your bum kicked!!! Seriously, set yourself reasonable targets as if you try for too much and fail you'll be put off. The most important thing is to establish a healthy diet - and I've been trying hard to do it in my family. I've brought my 2 young kids up to have 5 fruit and veg a day and no sweets/fatty stuff like mcdonalds or fizzy drinks. It wasn't easy as all the other kids eat so much junk, but they've done it. They now ask for fruit and veg and tell their friends ow important it is. Because it fills them up they don't have sweets and cake. Its surprising how much difference that can make and us as mum and dad have noticed the improvement in vitality and weight too. Angela

This is gonna sound hard: Today a size 20 ................ this time next year you could be a 28......... OR you have the choice to be a 14 again . I was once a size 28 - this time last year and I do not want to be that BIG again ever!! That a harder nuff kick for you ? Also eat bannanas they have some chemical reaction that makes you happy!! Much happiness Debi

Hi Julia, Sorry you are feeling down, bend over I'll give you a kick up the bum, if you like lol. Its a proven fact that the best way to put on weight is to diet, my sister has just lost weight and all she did was cut out some of the bread she was eating, drank loads more water and just ate healthily and it worked for her anyway. Take care and hope you cheer up soon Love Anne X

Hi Julie, My mum swears by Weight Watchers it's based on points and means you can have a bit of everything and treats every now and then. It's the only diet she's even been able to stick at. She tried the Atkins, but after loosing loads of weight in the first two weeks found it really difficult to stick to. I'm trying to be good, starting from today, as I'm going to be getting married so if you need a helping hand or some encouragement you know where I am! Saying that I might not be very helpful as I've just had a Kitkat at work so not really sticking to my plan! Hope you feel better soon about it, my mum's a size 20 and still gorgeous and I'm sure you are too! Amy xx

I have just been sorting out my wardrobe, and in the 4 years of being diagnosed with Parkinsons and giving up work I have gone from size 14/16 to 20. I have boxes of clothes in all sizes. No I am not happy to stay this way but mobility is a problem. I know the Slimming world way of eating works as I'v done it before I just need someone to give me a kick up the bum to get started. Help Julia
