Norah, Glad you are enjoying your birthday. Funny thing is I was just about to put a message on the board because I have been having the same problem all day. Had to switch off and reboot each time. Also, the imagine is jumpy, that's been happening for about a week. I think that the monitor is going to "conk" out on me. Lindy;-))

Many many thanks to all you lovely people that sent me birthday greetings, and thank you June for the thread. It may have seemed a small thing for you all to do, but meant an awful lot to me Also to those of you that have sent me e-mail greetings, thank you so much. Right my day so far:- Got up sometime after nine am. Had a leisurely breakfast whilst reading the paper. Took several telephone calls. Had a look at some e-mails (that was a good one Jenny) when without warning, my screen went black. Nothing, not a thing. I DID NOT PANIC though. Tried again and again, NOTHING!! Phoned my local friendy repair man who thought it might be the monitor at fault.Arranged to take it in to him. Made a a few more phone calls, having several cups of coffee to keep the dryness away. Doorbell rang (yellow tulips and freesia's from son and family) Just after 12.00 the postman arrived (lots of lovely cards to be opened. Time now for a spot of lunch as Tom was back from having been to see the nurse at our local surgery for some HEAVY BREATHING (don't ask). Time now then to don wet weather gear for taking monitor to see Tony (friendy local repair man. flrm) "Nice to see you "says Tony as Tom put the monitor down on his bench, "er, have you brought the transformer, as I can't test it without that" (There are times in life when you feel an absolute idiot - and this was one of them). Back home, un-plug transformer, and then back again to take it to Tony. Tony plugs everything in....................monitor works!!! Good news then, I don't have to buy another monitor. Back home, plug everything in.....yes....Windows XP comes up on the screen, so I phone Tony (flrp) to tell him that everything is hunky-dory, glance round at the monitor when I hear his voice..............everything is black again. HONEST. My local friendy repair man now tells me "don't worry, it must be a loose connection - just tighten everything up and wiggle the cables about" I did just that and lo and behold I am now able to view my birthday messages. Bless you all. So if you (or your 'pooter go BLANK) JUST GIVE A LITTLE WIGGLE
