Why is that when children are young they never want to go to bed, and when they get into their teens they never want to get out of their bed?? Beats me. Sylvia

My wee lad knows his limits and from 2yrs old would ASK TO GO TO BED ..............HONEST bang on 6pm and now at 8 he takes himself off to bed no later than 8pm. Some nights he is just too tiered for a story. Now my daughter now 12 still fights her sleep!! Me I just love me bed : ) Much happiness Debi

One of my sons is 15yrs and i trouble i have getting him to go to bed before mid-night are a nightmare and the rows that is causes between my husband and myself are amazing [ i'm second wife and not his 'real' mother even though she walked out and left when he was 2 and his brother was 4'] yet my daughter will just take herself off to bed when she is tired. Hi Melanie, 15 is a very difficult age, and not being your own son will need a lot of patience from you. Don't let him come between you and your husband. Try and be patient, think of when you were at that age!!! Patience can be really rewarding believe me. Sylvia xxx
