Thank you Lorr and Nell I kinda hoped JP was Justice of Peace but had no idea what D.L was . I can rest now in the knowledge that my ancestors were indeed far brainy than I lololol!! Much happiness Debi

DL is a doctor of divinity [a qualification in religious studies] JP is Justice of the Peace nell

I know the bog standard ones B.A, B.Sc, M.A, Phd and so on but have a few Ancestors who have the above PLUS D.L & J.P WHAT DO THESE MEAN? Thanks for your help.
