Hi David, do you remember what your superiors said about that. Did you have to keep going back "X" times in order to do it?

It doesn't suprise me at all - I was a census enumerator in 91. I was only 19 and in my first full time job but my wages all went on clubbing and I had to do something to pay my poll tax bill! It was amazing how reluctant people were to accept or return the forms. I had doors shut on me and abuse even (I think people mistook me for John Major as opposed to someone who was just trying to get hold of some cash) but sooo many people just wouldn't answer the doors. Can't remember how many forms I didn't get filled in now but it was a pretty substantial percentage. David

Hi all My husband and I were missed as we were on honeymoon at the time and also in the process of moving house. I had no idea how important it was at the time. I will make sure that we are not missed again. Didn't someone else on here put their religion as Jedi Knight? Wonder how many people made stuff up? Lynne

How can you miss 25,000 people? 25 people yes, that's maybe one side of a street, but 25,000???!!! I do remember making sure I filled in as much detail as possible and gave all the family's names on the form. Next time I think there should be a space to type in a message for our future descendants. You know: "all the family papers are under the teapot!" nell

My mother-in-law was missed she never received a form, when she told us it was too late to do anything. Sue

Just heard on local news that 25,000 people were `missed` from the 2001 Cen for Manchester. I wonder how many others were `missed` for the rest of the country.
