If you fancy doing something to help (maybe you already are) theres always transcribing for FreeBMD, location no barrier to that. Hope you enjoy your stay in England over Xmas. Val

Thanks everybody - feel a lot better now. Must admit I was having a bit of a down day yesterday (Still get homesick after two years!) Thanks Judith look forward to them & guess what! Since I last "spoke" to you I have persuaded Hubby to go back to UK for Xmas- me too of course ! So we are having six weeks over there. Now working on spending a couple of days in Heybridge- might work!! Brenda

No worries Brenda, getting out and about to take your photos means I come back to my own tree with a clearer head. Also I 'met' quite a few names from my childhood in that cemetary - makes me realise I ought to be writing down my own memories as well as finding out about the ancestors. e.g. I used to watch canal barges pulled by horses go past the school playground along that towpath (This was the late 50s early 60s) Judith PS some more census images on their way to you.

don't worry about it people, if you can't do look ups for one reason or another just be a friend to the rest of us on the boards -as you are. The people (myself included, although in a minor way) who do look ups etc do it because they enjoy it. so look on it as giving us pleasure. Ann Glos

Hi Brenda, I know what you mean but for a different reason. I have ME and manage to work part-time, which means that I don't do much else at all!! I have been helped greatly by several extremely kind people on this site ... but what I do is try to help people in other areas of my life and that way, I still feel I'm doing something in return. Even though I can't go to Record Offices or whatever, I can do other sorts of good turns. So even if you can't help someone with their family history, I'm sure you help people in other ways. Love Mandy xx

I know how you feel Brenda. Cyprus is a wonderful place to live ( my son born there) but you are out on a limb. Everyone will understand that and I'm sure all that they need is to know that their efforts have been appreciated, which they obviously are.
