Hi All Have searched BDM site and it appears that all 3 brothers births were registered in The Bolton District. Freda thinks that they all came from "Little Leaver" which is in the Bolton District. Freda knows Harolds Birth date as he is her grandfather. And his youngest daughter is still alive. Harold re married and died in Scotland and so all his records were lost over there. Thanks for all your work so far. Wayne and Freda in OZ

Wayne, Harold from Little Lever has 1 brother called Alfred in 1901. He must be one of these births: Births Jun 1897 Greenhalgh Harold Bolton 8c 364 Greenhalgh Harold Braithwaite Bolton 8c 376 Births Sep 1897 Greenhalgh Harold Bolton 8c 403 Births Mar 1898 Greenhalgh Harold Bolton 8c 528 but these don't fit in with the birthdate you gave. You can access the 1901 census here http://www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ but it’s pay per view. Your best option is to download the Census Decoder because it will group family members together. Go to www.censusdecoder.com and download the 1901FULLSETUP.EXE Once you’ve found a relative you can find the rest of the household by adding the civil parish into the Place Keywords field and searching with just the surname. Click the process Search button for each page. Go to show results and sort by page id. Families on the same page are sorted by colour. Crista

mmmmmmmmm it turns out that Harold was born out of wedlock. His name was Harold Duckworth using his mothers name which was Margaret Duckworth. She ended up marrying a Greenhalgh and took on his new fathers surname. So a serch under Duckworth from little lever may yeild som results. Wayne

The more you press the more you find out. BDM suggests that Margaret Ann Duckworth m John Greenhalgh Sep 1899. Still cant find Harolds birth date in Ovt 1887 either as Duckworth or Greenhalgh. Chrisa you might have another search for me and see if a John Greenhalgh married to a Margaret Duckworth turns up in the 1901 census. with as son either H Duckworth or H Greenhalgh. Thanks Wayne
