Lisa please! The best years of my life are yet to come! Every age has its challenges and joys. Though I must admit I did enjoy being a student, getting free/subsidised travel/drink/theatre tickets etc. But that coincided with having my heart broken too. nell

helen when you get to the middle age bracket like many of us on here (but not everyone)you know who i'm on about.a certain man that hit 35 a few months ago.it's downhill from there and you can't do the things you could do 15 years ago.like wear a short skirt(well not in my case!)xxxx(:

I always used to think that the best years of your life was the school years ,no stress ,no money worries ,no worries about a roof over your head, and so on. Not true anymore is it ,all that stress at school,money for school uniforms and extra tuition, worries over exam results ,more and more parents splitting up..School is no longer the best years of your life,i think the animal expired years ago ,and life is now a constant struggle for most.Fred.ptfg.

18-25 (roughly). Am hoping that 35 onwards will be happy too :)

The last 5 years have been the best so far (27-32). Not always as exciting as 16ish-27 and - thank God - not as bloody intense as my teen years lol but I have a lot of fun, can deal with things better than I used to and don't give a toss what anyone thinks of me :)) David (who still stays out late and drinks like a fish)

Lisa I'm 48 and I enjoy a drink or three. I still get up and dance when I feel like it. I can't think of anything I can't do now that I could when I was 16, whereas there's plenty I do now that I didn't when I was 16!! nell

The college years (17-20). Too many late nights, too many parties, too much drink & too much.........no, you can never have too much of that!!!!!!! Had mohican, dressed in charity shop clothes, moshed in the mosh pit to The Cult and The Cramps and had the BEST time!!!!!! Steph ;-)) (still moshing!!)

I like that Helen/Nell, I am the same age and I do what I like, but I am older and wiser and not shy now when I was a young girl and a teenager I was very shy and very sheltered and when I did eventually let my hair down, I got my heart broken. I wouldn't swap for any other age I dont want to be young again, I enjoy life to the full now and do more stuff I did not do when I was young and would never have thought of doing like genealogy. I have three kids & a quite hubby, what more can you ask LOL> Pat x

The last 4 yrs have been the best years of my life (from the age 26 to 31), but at the same time also my worst if that makes sense - broke up with my fiance 6 months before we were due to get married (back in 2000 - good way to start the year 2000!) but since then have had fun dating, drinking, dancing and doing things I should have done years ago but couldnt do cos I was tied to one bloke :-) Karen

When I was in single figures, that was the best as I had no real responsibilities and life was an adventure not knowing what was coming next. When I was in my teens, that was the best as I know that the world was my oyster if I wanted it to be and there were lots of choices to be made. When I was in my 20's that was the best as I had a young family and I really enjoyed being a Mum. When I was in my 30's that was the best as a bad marriage was behind me and there were lots more choices and adventures to have. When I was in my 40's that was the best as my children were becoming independent and life was beginning anew. Now I'm in my 50's and this is the best as I have a wonderful extended family, a husband who loves me as I love him and life is good. When I'm in my 60's, that will be the best because........ My point is, for me there is no best - every age can be wonderful. I'd be depressed if I was looking back and thinking the best was over and it was all downhill from now on!!

Hi Lisa, i would have to say that i probably had the most fun between 18 and 25 when i was single and had no responsibilities, but then again i enjoyed my 30's with my family. At the present i am 42 and have never felt more confident or comfortable with myself and am still in (quite) good nick for an "old girl". Am looking forward to what my 50's bring. Sheila x
