Origonating from liverpool, when I was young (many years ago) (god I feel ancient) my mum used to do scouse an lanc hotpot but never heard of havin beetroot with scouse, in fact only had cold beet with salad, but fresh hot beet as a veggy with a meal sounds though it might be nice so will give it a try. when I was young most weekday meals were stew of one sort or another or corned dog or spam fritters and Raost on Sundays so stews is somthing I have never done since I left home it was years befor I started eatin corndog again and as for spam just the thought is "Yuk" still have chip butties an jam sarnies though and still like the occasional condensed milk sarnie Michelle
