Merging Names

There are 4 main spellings of one surname we are researching and it really did just depend on chance as to which spelling was/is recorded even to this day. We have all 4 within an immediate family at times. A chance to merge would be really helpful.

I have the same problem and have just emailed them as well. The more of us that ask them to overcome this problem, the more chance we have of getting a solution.

I have just emailed GR about this subject. I have a number of different spellings of various surnames in my tree, for example Templar and Templer. I also have the only Wedralds on the site because my 7th ggma must have had a speech impediment, yet I cannot slot them into the Weatherall list. This does not help my searching because I have to keep switching from one list to another over the generations. I have asked GR if we could have a merge facility to alleviate this problem. Your comments would be appreciated. Jim
