Just wondered if there's anyone out there from Derbyshire :-) as quite a few seem to be from sunny downsouth. P.S. and it's definitely sunny here today compared to yesterday's weather ;-)

I live in Derby - unfortunately all my ancestors are from Wales, Scotland or Devon/Cornwall...the only connection in my tree to Derby, apart from me, is the husband of my great grandmother's sister! lol

Anyone going to the Matlock Bath Illuminations on Saturday October 23rd ?? if so, we'll probably bump into each other !! Last night for the Fireworks ! My Mother and Grandfather and ancestors are all from Lancs (Shawcross) and my Grandma (Pennell) and ancestors are all from Lambeth, London.! Elaine, I used to walk into Alfreton from South Normanton and used to go into Chesterfield shopping on a Saturday afternoon

I was born in yorkshire but all my rellies are from villages around Chesterfield 1790---1900 They are actually districts of Chesterfield now Have just found i Have a 3rd cousin in Chesterfield Sue

Hi! My parents were both born in Derby, one set of grandparents lived in Chellaston and the other in Chaddesden. I have an aunt there now but that's all, plus lots of lovely memories of visiting when I was younger!
