Thanks Marie and Karen. Tried the web pages you gave me and did find out what I needed to know legally, but still need advice on what to do next. School is taking a different view to me and being very stubborn! Really need to speak to someone about what to do next. There's no Cab anywhere near me. Thanks for your help so far. I do appreciate it. Eileen

Try these. The Law Society of Scotland (used to work there) (www.lawscot.org.uk/childlaw/index.htm) has a very good site for young people, with a section on school, including -'Some schools want the pupils to wear uniforms, or at least clothes of a particular type or colour eg dark coloured skirts/trousers or sweatshirts. State schools can't insist legally that pupils wear uniforms in school, but outrageous clothing could be banned by the school, since it could disrupt the smooth running of the school.' CAB advice http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/scotland/family_parent/education_scotland/problems_at_school_scotland.htm K.

I need info about the law in Scotland regarding school uniform and individual child laws. Have tried a few places without success. If anyone can advise I'd be really grateful. Thanks, Eileen
