Hi all, just popped in for five minutes. Thank you for asking about my Dad. When we came from the hospital, we both had a good chat in the car and he seemed quite calm about the whole thing, but today the realisation of what he has seems to have hit him and he is very unsettled and short tempered, bless him. Had telephone call from hospital today, he has to go in next Wednesday and have the operation on Thursday. He is having a new hearing aid made for the other ear by the hospital, so hopefully he will have this by next week, he has been deaf since he was 18, and can't hear a thing without his aid. Once again, thank you for your concern, I will keep you posted. M.

i will be thinking of you and your parents tomorrow and i think too that your gran is looking out for your dad. i dont think its a bad omen and hope hell be ok. i had an experience at the weekend at dad 70th birthday meal. i say i, but i believe the rest of the family felt mum gave us a sign that she was watching over us to make dad laugh on his birthday.

My Dad lost his mother to cancer when he was 22, he will be 75 in November. He has always had such a great fear of having cancer. He only had one tiny photograph of her in a group, so earlier this year my daughter took the photograph to work, took just my Gran off it and enlarged and laminated it. My Dad was so happy with the photograph, he kept it in his bedroom for safe keeping. A few weeks ago he developed a small spot on his ear which has very quickly eaten away a part of his year. Our GP has got him an urgent appointment at the hospital tomorrow, the GP has told me he is very worried about my Dad and having seen this sort of thing before I know what we will be told tomorrow. I am going with my Dad. Two nights ago I had a telephone call from my Mam to say that my Dad was sitting in his usual place on the settee, feet up on a footstool, when he decided to make a cuppa, he put his feet on the floor and sticking out from underneath the footstool was the photograph of my Gran. My Dad has never brought it from the bedroom, and this has really upset my parents because they think this is a bad omen. Personally, I think my Gran is sending a message to my Dad to say, you'll be ok son, I'm watching over you. Sorry this is long winded but just had to share this with my friends. Your prayers for my Dad tomorrow will be much appreciated, because he is the most wonderful caring Dad and I love him to bits. M. Been to the hospital and my Dad has skin cancer, he will have the horrible thing removed within the next week, we have to wait for the results, but really hoping that will be it. All I can get out of him at the moment is, what if he can't wear his hearing aid, as the specialist said he will have to remove a considerable amount of the ear. My Dad says thanks to you all for your good wishes. Love, M.
