My daughter who is 4 1/2 has JCA be it she has it mildly in both of her ankles and tomorrow she is going to Great Ormond St Hospital to have steroids injected into her ankles. It doesn't affect her at all as she is quite active we are hoping it will take down the swelling. I am worried but hopefully it will help her out.

Julie Ive seen something like that on the telly. Apparently it helps quite a lot. Can you ask if they can put some magic cream on the sites where they will inject her. Hope it all goes well for your little girl. Elaine x

Julie I am eaten up with arthritis and can really recommend the new approach to eating by Dr Gillian McKeith You Are What You Eat. I have been treated with a whole series of cortesone preparations and steroids through the years and none have helped. Two years ago I dumped all such treatment and stopped attending clinics. They were not doing me any good anyway. I have invested in fairly expensive magnetic bracelets for wrists and ankles and have had my first nights sleep for years. As long as I keep the bracelets on I am without pain. I am now following the relaxed diets recommended by Dr.G. and have had my first fortnight without gastric problems and IBS my dreadful skin lesions which bled and cracked so badly I could not walk have healed and I am able to enjoy walking for the first tme in 20 yrs. Our intake of food has a drastic effect on arthritis. Please try it good luck Rose

hi julie i do hope the treatment helps your daughter, she is so young, i like others suffer and its not pleasant, I have been trying glucosomine sulphate which is tablet form of fish oils,[so herbal] which helps relieve some of the symptoms, you can either buy over the counter or get it on prescription, it might be worth asking your drs about it. take care and good luck tomorrow sandra
