Good morning, and ta ta, lost patience, will mebbe call back later, is it my computer? or is anyone else finding site slow today?? Thought "closed for maintenance" meant that things would be better!

They replaced their database server at the weekend. Gut feeling says it needs reconfiguring, as there's a performance bottleneck somewhere. I've just mailed them about it being slow, I suggest everyone else does and they'll focus on the problem. Paul

gosh it's SO slow it's frustrating but if there's a problem then s'pose it can't be helped. I'm on Broadband and nothing's hardly moving

Have just come home (lunchtime) things no better? what have they been doing, over the weekend? wish they'd left it alone,do they know what they are doing? perhaps we have somebody better qualified on here!..

Don't know why but for me this site has been loads faster since the crash at the weekend! Spooky:)

It's really slow at the moment, can make a cuppa while waiting for the page,, But!!!!! then I have had a lot of 'page cannot be displayed' have to try a few times to get it.. What is going on, Time to do the tea, me thinks!!!! Pat

Me thinks they need another server ;P this is slower than after the original 'improvements' lol :(

We are now approaching 17 million names, which is great because it means more of a chance to find links between families and trees. However, our system is attempting to cope with the recent surge in traffic and names being added. We did upgrade to a new database server early yesterday and are looking at other upgrades and site changes to improve site performance. If you can bear with us, we are striving to get this improved.
