Hello! I really am struggling here. Could anyone suggest how I can associate or disassociate people with the same surnames in the same areas? I've reached a brick wall and although I've found possible relatives I don't how to confirm their connection. Any help would be great fully appreicated Thank you Becx

We have the same problem, Bec and feel there must be a link but we have tracked both families back to the 1700s without finding it,- yet. Have you tried Wills? They can be really useful at sorting out relationships.

Manorial records, gravestones, land tax assessments, poor law records, mention in local history books. Anything you can lay your hands on. One ancestor has 4 grandparents, all with the same surname and I don't think I'll ever sort that out! Good luck Brenda
