Hello Caron, I used to know of a Mrs Mole in Houghton Regis - where are your's based? Have you tried checking for a will? - sometimes they can mention your last brick wall as a son/brother etc. Try looking for one on the National Archives site. I did a very small mail out - 6 letters and had one response. Sadly, we couldn't make a connection between our families although we had a lot of information in common. Have you mailed everyone on this site with the same name and born in the area you are looking at? - now that is successful ! I traced a whole new branch of the family that way. Magsx

Hi Caron, Sorry cannot help with th your query, but as you mentioned "mailout" to others of the same name, I presume you mean sending letters to those of the same name & asking if they have any connection? If so, I had fairly recently just followed this course of action, and the results, to put it mildly, are very disappointing. I sent out over a dozen letters (with a stamped addressed envelope) to date I have received just ONE reply!! wonder what the others have done with the stamped envelopes?? Unfortunately, the one person who did have the courtesy to reply, although they themselves are researching, there was no link to my family. Even if there is no link, it is a simple matter to reply, especially when you are not asking them to pay for postage, but it seems the age of courtesy is dead!!! So, be prepared for disappointments if you go ahead and try this method (not to mention being expensive!!)

I have gotten as far back as 1712 with my Mole family research but now the records have stopped. does anyone know where i can get further information? They came from bedfordshire from 1712 but i dont know where before then. Also has anyone tried mailouts to anyone with the same name? Are they worthwhile?
