When I was sharing a flat many moons ago, a visitor asked for pink coffee when we asked whether he wanted it white or black. He got pink coffee. We floated a marshmallow sweet on top!

I'm just off to my boys' school. One of the classroom helpers there is organising a coffee morning for MacMillan as her sister has breast cancer. She did it last year and raised about £400. Good luck to anyone organising one.

Just been and done my bit! Bought an unusual plant, it will replace the exotic plant sent to me last year that died while we were in the States in April - I knew I should have got a 'sitter' for it!

Hi David, we raised over £100. Feel really pleased as it was all quite short notice. For anyone interested, I'm told there's another one in October for breast cancer. Such a fantastic idea, as it gets people together for a good cause and a nice chat too! Hope everyone else's went well? Jenny, how was North Shields today? My cousins live on the Quadrant and in Wooler Avenue. Sal

Welldone everyone for keeping this up the top, and all of you who went along to give your generous support for such a worthy cause, wether you raised or gave just a few pounds or hundreds, all of you are stars!! In my little home my friends and neighbours helped me raise £260-60p, i am well pleased David

That's great David! My best friend organised ours. Her lovely Dad, John, died almost two years ago, and had a wonderful Macmillan nurse towards the end. It's nice to think that what we raised will pay for that kind of care for someone else! Sal.x
