thanks everyone, scarlett was a very quiet cat went we first went to look at her but she had turned into a mad possesed cat, both of my girls have never laughed so much because scarlett has a couple of mouse toys that keep getting tossed around and scarlett jumps about 2ft in the air. already have put flea drops on her, will take her to the vets in the next couple of weeks for jabs, any tips on insurance for cats--we've never done it before because our cats were always too old but scarlett is approx 1yr so want to get insurance this time

Karen - not sure how old Scarlett is, but you might find this link handy - you get a 'freebie' if you register.... www(.)catslikefelix(.)co(.)uk/kitten Also has a link into the Purina website which offers lots of on-line pet care advice.

It is probably best not to get a flea collar, as they can get hooked up - vets don't usually recomend them now,but suggest you use the drops that u put on the back of the neck:o)) Same with dogs:0) Scarlett - sounds like you have a lovely new home:o)

We took in a stray, which gave birth to 5. Gave 3 to the animal shelter place when they were old enough. Kept 2. 1 went out never came back so I have one 3 year old little cat who has the most hansome smile. :-)

How many cats have you got Daniel?.., what are they called?

Word of advice (2 actually with personal experience) 1) Watch your wallpaper. Cats are known for tearing it down to mark their territory. 2) Get a flea collar. You'll wish you did when you start getting itchy legs.

scarlett arrived last night and made herself at home straight away,we left her in the living room and when Eloise woke up at 6am she kept saying i can hear a cat meowing.hubby wasn't coming home until 6.30am so was trying to distract her until then.anyway hubby arrived with my parents(isabelle was also up by then) and we went to eloises room.i came down and got scarlett and took her back up and eloises face was a picture, something i'll never forget. then she had the wonderful present from my mum and dad(disneyland paris),shell shocked is a good word to desribe her morning. Scarlett is now busy getting to know the house and seems to like sitting on the landing ,so she can see whos coming in the front door, thanks to everyone for their advice,i probably wouldn't have got another cat if it wasn't for all of you messages, karen
