I loved going on "Eyeballs" because people never actually looked like how their voice sounded! Remember meeting one chap who sounded such a hunk and he was a 30 stone biker.... not good!! Anyone ever go to a meet at Windsor safari Park? I used to love them!!

Still got mine, a couple of rigs in the house (UK & CEPT) plus one in the car (Dual, but don't let on). Most of the muppets who spoilt it in the early 90s have gone on to better things, so when you do get a contact it's much more sensible. It kept me sane when out of work 1993-94 and made some great mates, at one time had about 60 regular contacts. Greatest memory: DXing back to the UK from the motorway outside Bordeaux plus some great skip from Germany, Cyprus, Scotland and Ireland. Happy days!

Just to add a bit more, in my late teens i even had one in the car rigged to the PA system and Dixie air horns that could be played through it, How naughty was i ? My mum would have killed me if she knew how many 'eyeballs' i went on. But i also made some good friends who are still a part of my life through the CB and indirectly met my huubie, so maybe not a bad thing (much safer than internet chatrooms) Over and out, good buddy, ten ten till we do it again Bright eyes xxxx
