heard on the news the other day that a post office in a part of the country can't remember where will have an area where you can report crime and oay fines there aswell.i find this quite amusing as if the post office are cutting back on services by closing post offices in the country and deliveries being cut than how do they find time to do all that.also i think we pay enough council tax for the police to do what they are supposed to do .being in a police station when a person comes in to the station to report these crimes.i think the next thing will be role swapping.you will be able to go into a police station and buy stamps or post a parcel!!!!!!xxxx(:

It all depends on how this is to run. I live in a large village with a mobile police van visiting once a fortnight for two hours. If we could report incidents at the post office this would increase opertunities. However if it is meant to replace police stations then I would be against it. I belive the trial is in Norfolk. Bob

David, sat here feeling poorly and reading the threads in the hope of a laugh - I got it from yours! It's just given me the giggles for some reason, I can just picture someone saying that. Thank you! Mandy :)

Almost rofl, but haven't quite got the energy yet to get down there!! Thanks David :) PS Lisa, I do realise that this was meant to be a subject to take seriously - and I do - but David's replies have cheered me up no end, hope you don't mind!

Yes, the post would probably arrive a lot quicker that way. Ooh, had another thought, there is a policeman lives a few houses away, perhaps he would drop my post in for me and maybe tax my car while he's at it :))
