My youngest son put his training loo seat over his head too. I had to ring my husband who came home from work and cut it off. He was always doing something cranky as a toddler. Over the years we spent more time in A & E than I care to remember! Kathy

Hi Brian, I have added an 'lol' to the thread title - it was meant to be tongue in cheek. To be a REAL hero you have to have guts - and that's exactly what your son has by the sound of it. Both my daughter and son in law are both serving police officers and I do genuinely realise what awful situations they find themselves in sometimes. Your son is without doubt a very brave man - well done to him. Magsxx

My son is in Essex police and had to go into the Greek plane with a suspected bomb at Stansted. His attitude was "Well, if it goes up I won't know anything about it, unlike those outside who will be badly injured".

I have just received this email from my son's next door neighbour in New Zealand: Dear Maggie and Phil, I thought that I would email and tell you what a wonderful son you have he's our HERO of the day...well a scary thing happened tonight to young James....came running into the lounge with his training toilet seat stuck round his neck...he was getting rather stressed. I couldn't get it off him...I thought **** Ian at work...what can I do? I saw Chris's light so I grabbed hold of James and carried him round to Chris, rang the doorbell. Chris took one look and busted out in laughter. Chris checked his tool box and realized he didn't have the right tool.I ran home while James stayed with Chris. When I arrived back Chris had half the toilet seat apart by this time. Ann had arrived to see what was going on as she had seen me run past her window. What a sight it would have been for her. She also laughed at poor James which started us all off...after a few wiggles, tugs, Chris (our HERO) managed to free James from the toilet seat what a relief...well done. Oh well I better be going take care love to you both Rebecca Ian James xxx
