The thing to remember with virus protection is... there are new viruses being launched all the time.. which means you need to make sure your cirus scanner automatically updates itself with new versions. saying that... it sometimes takes a day or two for the people to write the updates for the scanners... in that time its possible to get infected. Don't panic though - 99% of viruses are annoying more than destructive

My virus came in on the back of a programme I downloaded from the internet last week. Annoying thing is the programme didn't work! Jacky

I sometimes find that when I am on this site Trojan horses try to attack but Norton always intercepts them Bren

I have one on my computer at the moment (Trojan horse virus) . Norton anti-virus picked it up on scanning but it can't be fixed, quarantined or deleted. The message came up to leave it alone and not open the programme it has attached itself to. If anyone has an idea I am listening......... Jacky

It is a virus ,a firewall is the first line of defence,but if it is lowered one of the anti virus programmes like norton or mcaffee will quarentene it and stop it doing any damage.Never lower your firewall whilst on line .there are sites to download trojan removal tools ,so if you are concerned ,get in touch with Judy,i'm sure she will help.Fred.ptfg.

Go to the sophos website and follow the instructions for removing trojans. Janice

My firewall stops them too. Not sure if it is actually a virus because it is the firewall that stops them not the anti virus. I think it is another computer trying to access your computer and not always actually malicious. ann Glos

How does this affect your computer I think it is a virus, a friend of mine was asking what to do I think you just run your anti virus for it, am I correct? Sue
