guilty as charged :) when you're a kid and they say support your local team, and you live in the middle of nowhere what are you supposed to do ? At least I can say I supported them when they were shite (70s/80s)... and heading that way again I think :) "my old man, said be a city fan, and I said...." lol

The late Willie Rushton wanted "Discontinued" on his gravestone. My mum wants "she did what she could". I also love Alan Bennett's story (to be read in a Yorkshire accent) about a widower discussing his late wife's headstone with the monumental mason. They decide on her name and dates and then the man suggests "She was thine". The mason agrees that would be very appropriate as the woman was a keen churchgoer and says it'll be ready in a few days time. The bereaved chap goes to check the headstone and is shocked to find "She was thin". He says to the mason "You've missed out the E". The mason apologises and says he can alter it. A few days later the widower finds the correction "E, she was thin"! nell

Nice one Christine - Is it a hobby of yours reading inscriptions on Gravestones

Thought this inscription on a womans gravestone was funny, "She always said her feet were killing her, but no one believed her"!.. (have been looking on a website called Gravestone Humour!).
