Not quite an out driving story but this is probably not as funny in the telling but last night it was hilarious. A police car drew up at the block of flats opposite me and the two policemen went into the concierges office, passing a few 'Neds' who were hanging around. Just as they went in another police car came up our street and suddenly on went it's sirens and lights,as it flew up the road. The two police officers came running out of the office as they thought their car had been stolen and were running up the road after it! They were like Keystone Cops (Don't know how they were hoping to catch it) It was so funny when the realisation hit them that their car was still where they had parked it. You should have seen their red faces as they walked past the group of laughing Neds!! Christine

This might have been the funniest thing that OTHER people saw while out driving ..... 2 years ago, my hubby, son and I went on holiday in the UK with my parents. We all went in the one car (we have a people carrier) so the suitcases were on the roof. Hubby hasn't had much experience of attaching stuff to the roof rack so we had to keep stopping to push the cases back on properly ... until we got on a stretch of road where there was nowhere to stop and it looked like the cases were about to slide down the front windscreen. So other motorists would have seen a Renault Scenic driving along with three people in the back seat (mum, dad, our son) with their hands out of the sunroof clinging on to the suitcases. We were hoping nobody had their camcorder running lol. Still 'lol' to this day! Mandy :)

Driving from our small town in Ontario, to shop at a bigger town the drive is mostly fields and farms. On the way there is a Emu/Ostrich farm where you can by meat and eggs. (I never have tried either) anyway we were on our way home on this particular day and were the only car on the road, when suddenly from nowhere this huge ostrich jumped the fence and started running alongside the highway beside our car, yes it did overtake us. My husband stopped at the farm and I jumped out and ran to the farm house to let them know there was a loose ostrich on the run. To my utter disbelief, the people were not concerned and treated it as an everyday occurence. Be warned if you ever visit Ontario, Canada watch out for ostriches trying to overtake you on the highway and remember we drive on the other side of the road to the Brits. Amanda in Canada

may be not funny - more scarey- husband and wife overshot their turn off on the roundabout and reversed up 2 stops - other people like me just sat there with our mouths open watching in amazement. A couple of years back I was travelling on the motorway, it was a long very straight slightly down hill stretch no junctions in view, and I could see a car in front of me way off in the distance - I closed on the car in record short time - because he was reversing up . Even further back in history - I had a boss once who invented some on land skis - got caught by the police being towed up the motorway for the test run.

On the same journey, hubby driving: 1. A red phone box in a small hamlet, a man opening the door and a large goose strolling out. My husband laughed so much he nearly crashed thecar, we rounded a corner and in a layby was a group of about thirty people stood round a grand piano, singing! That was twenty years ago and I still havent worked it out!

I was out one day with my friends parents and there grandson Ben (5yrs old). We were on our way to Thorpe Park. When Ben shouted "look granny that sofas moving". We all shrugged off his comment, only to find as we came off the motorway to a set of lights, a truck pull up in front of us with 3 workmen sitting on a orange sofa on the back of the truck drinking beer!!

My husband's a lorry driver, and some of things he sees.....! A man driving at 75 + miles an hour on the motorway, em...well , shall we say amusing himself!! A couple , where the girl was....amusing the driver (man!) , a woman putting on mascara at 60 miles an hour, and a small child steering while his dad was on the phone!! I add that all these have been seen on the motorway! How frightening is that!

Hi Kylie A couple of years ago we were driving past Urquart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness. Sitting on the wall was an elderly man in his kilt, playing the bagpipes. His kilt was hitched up so high and being a true Scotsman he was wearing no underwear. His 'meat and two veg' were clearly on display. Of course all the tourists were taking pics of him. I don't know if this was because of what could be seen or if they were in for a shock when they got the pics developed! (Maybe they thought Nessie was lurking under his kilt. LOL)

A London bus being flashed by a camera for speeding and another for jumping red traffic lights. Someone trying to squeeze between two vehicles not realising that they were joined by a tow rope. Car going across a junction when the passenger door opens and a burning handbag comes flying out.
