From the letters page: Who does Walt Disney think he's kidding? First, he explains away the sexy-looking figure of Tinkerbell in Peter Pan by saying he was making the character easy for Americans to understand. Secondly, he gives Glynis Johns some extremely low necklines in The Sword and the Rose and claims they were purely historical! Come off it Walt!!! From Mrs S.R. Sidebottom, Greenford, Middlesex who was awarded £2.2s for her letter The reply was this: You've got something there. But lets be fair to Disney, Tinkerbell HAD to be in character with the other American types in Peter Pan. And Walt Disney may well be right about the neckline you know. They wore them low in Tudor times
