I used to go to a clairvoyant in Manchester before I moved down here and he was pretty good. I have been going to the local spiritualist church recently and there is a good medium goes there. He seems to be very accurate but I haven't had any messages myself so I would like a personal sitting but he is booked up for ages yet. I think this is the best way to find a medium rather than getting someone out of the phone book etc. You can go to the church and it doesn't cost much, if anything and if you think they are good you can then try to get a private sitting. We had a medium come to the house a couple of years age. There was eight of us and she went round the table in turns giving each person a reading. It was fantastic, the sceptics are now believers. We are having another one with a different medium on Friday 29th Oct. I'll keep you posted.

I haven't had any readings done in recent years, but would love to now, and maybe go to a clairvoyance evening in hope of contact with lost relatives. Can anyone recommend any in Kent?? Or failing that, how about a group outing to a Clairvoyance evening somewhere local??

My mum went to see a medium, i listened to the tape that was made and there was things that she said that nobody apart from me and my mum would have known, it was amazing and touching. she was able to put my mums mind to rest on alot of things, as she was able to contact various people, sounds silly, but also my dog, who we all adored, the woman would not have known what my dog looked like, but she hit it right on the spot, and i had a rare dog aswell. she also contacted family members, and was able to see someone from my mums past....it was very moving...xxx

I've been to a medium and a clairvoyant a few times. I can't say that anything they tell me has come true although they do seem to hone in on what I want to hear if that makes sense? I would like to visit a medium again but am so wary of finding a decent one so if anyone knows of a good one in Surrey or South London then let me know. Cheers Naomi

Len of the Chilterns Report 7 Oct 2004 23:49

The first séance I attended was in the 1960s and by way of amusement. I was a bit strapped for cash at the time and, walking through the subway at Marble Arch in London, saw a poster advert for a FREE demonstration at the Spiritualist HQ in Belgravia. That lovely word FREE caught my eye immediately so I went there instead of the cinema. I sat well away from the front, in an audience of about 100 people, but was selected by the medium for a message from my grandfather. I was going to give nothing away but I was not questioned. The message was to the effect that he was anti-spiritualist when he passed over but had since changed his mind, I was given a description of him, a man in sea captains type outfit, square-cut beard , aged about 70 and he walked with a limp. He also said I had an oil-painting of him. There was more. I rejected all this and suggested the medium had picked on the wrong person. Later when I was recounting this to my God-mother (Aunt Nell) an intellectual lady, formerly a lecturer, she gave me a rocket, first for dabbling in the occult, then for knowing so little of my grandfather (who died when I was 6). He was a missionary to seamen and visited ships and always went about dressed like that. He had a square-cut beard and walked with a limp as he got his leg broken carrying out an act of bravery for which he got an award. I did have a small oil-painting and it was in a box (which I had never opened) with old family photos which God-mother, Aunt Nell, had given to me. Furthermore, when he had died, another aunt (Dorothy) was inconsolable and visited a trance-medium in Brighton to try and get evidence that he lived on. According to God-mother, the medium went into a trance but could get no contacts as "she was being blocked by a powerful personality, who appeared to be a seaman, who disapproved of what she (the medium) was doing" Dorothy was quite upset about this until Nell pointed out to her: "typical of the old man - what better proof could you have?" That started me off on a quest which went on for some years -and I took a lot of convincing. I have an analytical mind and accept nothing on faith. A statement is true only if it corresponds with reality. For my rationalisation, see Tracy Blackburn's thread "Life after Death -does anyone believe". My summary is on 30th September. I sought to make a case for the continuation of consciousness, after bodily death, without resorting to mysticism and remaining inside the laws of physics. My quest proved to my satisfaction that, although there are a lot of charlatons about, there is a significant number of true mediums who can make contact with minds that have passed from this world. pmsl @ paul big time. i have been to a palmist, clairvoyant, spiritulist etc, etc, years ago they were good and spot on, but over the past few years i have noticed that they could be on about most people, so?????. over the years i have lost faith in them, which i find sad as i used to love going and be amazed at how correct they were. Just need to find one whos good etc. so if anyone knows one s -o-t, give us a shout. LoL ;-)

I used to find Mediums, very good, but as the years went on and I gained a little weight, I now sadly have to have a large. :)

I went to one many years ago but rather than reading me they gave me my brothers life story in the future - I wrote it all down at the time and have slowly crossed off each event as it happened - the last being the birth of a son after having tried for a long time - she was spot on for him and the bits that did pertain to me turned out true to. Can anyone recommend someone in the Doncaster/South Yorkshire area? Maggie

hi jo i have had my cards done many times, by clairvoyants, and they have been so right, its scary.i like it if they tape them as well. so you can re listen. I also had a palm reading done, and told i would have a serious illness and another baby, at the time i thought rubbish, i've been sterilised, 4 months later i lost the baby and had cervical/womb cancer. People are very sceptical, but i am a believer in the unknown. lol sandra
