I have to be honest and say that I think houses that are convered in every type of illumination they can get their hands on look really stupid - tacky and gaudy. By all means put lights up, but have a little taste !! (nothing person Lisa !)

Years ago when my children were small, I used to do the hallway with lights and fairies and the neighbours would pop in with their children just to see it. I don't now though, what a shame. Jo.

my nextdoor neighbour and i have been doing ours for several years now, and last years looked particularly good, all the kids in the neighbourhood come around to have a look and to see there faces is great, my 2 eldest kids are growing up now but last year we had another little un, but he was too young to appreciate it all, but unfortunatly he wont get to see mine this year because im not doing it. Last year, on christmas eve night (whilst santa was doing his rounds) some scummy git decided to have a wrecking spree on our displays, and did quite a lot of damage, although everything wasnt ruined i just dont have the heart to put the time money and effort in to it, just for some scum bag to come and ruin it!!!!, my neighbour wants us to carry on and do it again, what would you do kaz

I wouldn't do that where i live at the minute because some charmer would most likely pinch them. What i may do ,is go into south Gosforth with my camera and put two or three photos onto the puter for a seasonal background, and confine my decorations to the inside of my house.Fred.ptfg

My hubby is a bah humbugs man but I might have a drive down your way and have a look at yours, as I know a few pubs down your way I could persuade hubby to join me if not a girly night out could be on the cards... :)
