Full-time student midwife. 4 weeks into course and loving every minute of it. I'm fortunate that I have hubby home at the moment, so I don't have the worry of the children. BUT I do seem to spend most of the weekend tidying up after the 3 of them!!!! Julie

Wow Rose - wish I'd known your job a few months ago - been redesigning my front garden. I did a short Garden Design course a year or so back, but realised once I had dug out the garden that I knew absolutely NOTHING about garden design! It's coming together, but more evolving than design! My job title is PA to the Managing Director of a large independent Funeral Directors (probably the largest in the country) I am also a qualified Funeral Director - a bit of a Jacqui of all trades really - not too proud to do anything necessary at work - from hoovering to conducting funerals (but not at the same time!) Former Home Help and Childminder then a Nurse on a Paediatric Unit in London. Now a Pre-school manager which started by volunteering to wash up when my daughter started Pre-school. Did various qualifications and now Manager of 7 staff and about 45 children. Part time job with full time paper work. Also part time costume maker for local senior school productions. There are some jobs on here that I would love! Doctor's receptionist or Library Assistant. I love collating info, sorting and above all making lists! (I know - sad.) Jacky:-)

There are some fascinating jobs on here. Me, I'm a full time carer for my elderly mother. In my previous life I was a teacher for 35 years and a Welfare Officer. I took early retirement and returned to college to do City &Guilds Amenity Horticulture and Garden Design. I had my own Garden Design Studio and I loved the job. I specialised in Restoration of Old Gardens and in Plant Research.I won a Silver at Hampton Court. It seems like a life time ago. One day I will go back to it. You do not have to retire from Garden Design . Have you noticed that Politicians don't retire at 60/65 either. So why if it is OK FOR THEM to go on boring for England do the rest of us get the impression that we have nothing to offer after 60? Serious Question Rose

I bet no one else does this. Im a Doula - it means slave in ancient Greek. Basically I support women through pregnancy, labour and when they have new babies. I aim for women to have births they will remember and cherish forever. It means at times I go nights without sleep - but its worth it. I also work as a counsellor - dealing with pregnancy, relationship and fertility issues. Regards Tracey K

Well I've been working since I left college 3 years ago. At the moment I'm an administrator but I'm about to leave this job to start working for my dad, selling property in Greece! In the past I've worked in a supermarket, for a PR agency, for BT and as a Club 18-30 rep.

Currently working for an Insolvency Practioner but have worked in Customers Services as both Advisor and Team Manager in one capacity or another for years..... I too really fancy a change - have applied for a job as a learning resources assistant (not quite sure what one of those is but according to the ad I have the qualifications). Have a BA(Hons) Degree in Art / Textile Design and used to have my own busines making and teaching ceramics, however I had to close that down when my ex husband became ill and I needed to support the family alone.... hence the Customer Services thing.....G xx

I'm a researcher in a Dental School but just about to take on a second job as a lecturer because my husband (a teacher) is on long term sick and just gone onto half pay. On top of that I am a puppeteer for local churches and also run a house with two teenage boys and 3 intermittent stepchildren all in their twenties, just about to take on a lodger of 16 whose parents are moving away. My third job is working with dyslexics who are presenting Higher Degree theses. Am knackered actually but it pays the mortgage. What I'd really like to do is write my novel but there are only 24 hrs in each day

Sam if you have worked in Customer Services for ages then you will be able to turn your hand to any customer related job. Anywhere that involves interracting with the public will be perfect. People skills is one of the most important things that employers look for and you must have bundles - you are amply qualified for tons of jobs! Maz. XX
